Great Nanaimo Toy Drive
HCFC is excited to partner with the Great Nanaimo Toy Drive for another year of spreading the holiday spirit. A toy box is now available at the HCFC clubhouse and we encourage you to bring in new toy donations for kids 0-18 years old any time between now and December 12.
This year, we are hosting a social media contest to encourage teams and individuals to contribute and get the word out about just how awesome our members are, reaching out to help the 1500 children in Nanaimo who need our help at Christmas time.
It works like this: teams gather donations for the toy drive, snap a photo of themselves with their donations, and post it to our Facebook page with the hashtag #hcfcnanaimo or to our Twitter feed @hcfcnanaimo with 50 words or less about what the spirit of giving means to you. Get creative!
Volunteers at the Great Nanaimo Toy Drive will pick the best photos and verbiage, and winners will receive fabulous prizes, including the top team prize: pizza dinner at Boston Pizza! Individuals can also enter the contest, so get those donations and creative photos rolling in.
Coaches, if you choose to participate, please make sure everyone on your team knows the photos will be going on Facebook and that your parents are okay with posting the photo. The deadline for posting photos is 5 pm December 12.
You don't have to be part of the contest to make a donation! Anyone can drop off a donation at the clubhouse or at any of the drop off points around town. If you have any questions about the contest, please drop me a line. Need more information about the Great Nanaimo Toy Drive, drop off locations, or gift suggestions? Check out their website >> Toy Drive Volunteers will be on site December 12 handing out treats for the kids during our wonderful winter wrap-up event – be sure to drop in and say hello.
Thank you so much for your generous support. See you on the pitch!
